Here for the party! Although Mush for a Cure raises money for a serious reason, a lot of fun is had in the fundraising. People come from far and wide dressed in all shades and textures of pink to see the Mass Sourdough Start on the ice in front of Gunflint Pines Resort. Catch the action at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 12.
An amazingly fun fundraiser, the Mush for a Cure, will be held March 11 – 12, 2011. For the fifth year the Gunflint Trail will be flooded with pink—at an evening Pink Masquerade Ball, a pink pancake breakfast, a race filled with pink-clad competitors, and a wrap-up party at which shiny pink bald heads will appear. All the craziness is for an extremely worthy cause. The money raised goes to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. So come on out and catch some of the action—just be sure to don some pink so you aren’t left out!
The 2011 Mush for a Cure Honoree is breast cancer survivor Binner Rahn of Duluth. Binner is a recreational dog sledder and proudly takes part in another Cook County event, the North Shore Dragon Boat Races as a member of the wild ‘n crazy Wiki Wahine dragon boat team. Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006, Binner is an inspiring role model and the perfect choice for Mush for a Cure Honoree! Best wishes, Binner!
