Birch Grove Community School has received its fifth School Finance award from the Minnesota Department of Education. The award winners were announced at the Minnesota School Boards Association’s 89th Annual Leadership Conference on January 14, 2010. Birch Grove Community School board and administration were all in attendance for the conference held at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
There were 118 winners or 21.11% of the 559 reporting units. To receive this award schools must demonstrate characteristics of fiscal health and sound management, comply with various state statutes on selected finance issues and demonstrate fiscal health in the local setting. Birch Grove Community School has received this award every year since its opening in 2005.
