Fisherman’s Picnic Tennis Tournament results

Ready to volley are Carl Johnson and Jan Hadley of Grand Marais. Once again the annual Fisherman’s Picnic Tennis Tournament drew a nice field of talented tennis players both young and old. Players competed in some hot weather, which was hard on local players not used to the heat, but everyone got through just fine and had a great time playing. Photo courtesy of Robert Gordon

With participants experiencing the full spectrum of Grand Marais weather, the 2018 Fisherman’s Picnic Tennis Tournament was successfully conducted August 3-5. Nearly 50 participants from several states and Canada made for a very competitive field and some great tennis.

Tournament Directors Mark Summers and John Muus did a masterful job in scheduling around changing weather conditions ensuring all divisions were successfully concluded by Sunday afternoon. Thanks to all the participants and spectators for coming out and we look forward to seeing you next year!
