First annual Freezin for Reason 5K set for December 31

If you want to combine some good old fashioned exercise with a good cause, come out and take part in the first annual run/walk Freezin for a Reason 5K.

Dec. 31 marks the one year anniversary since the passing of Gunnar Anderson, who died tragically in a snowmobile accident. Gunnar was known in the community for his kindness and selfless acts to help others.

The 5K will be held to commemorate and honor the memory of Gunnar, and it will also be used to provide funds to local youth who want to “be the change” in the lives of others through compassion, good deeds, and selfless acts.

Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. The walk/run starts at 1:45 p.m., with the race ending at Bethlehem.

Following the 5K there will be a meal provided by James and Christy Marshall, coffee donated by Java Moose and baked goodies that will be provided while there is a time to reflect on the memories of a life that made a difference to all of us.

You can pre-register for the 5K and/or pre-order a T-shirt on our Facebook page, through PayPal (bethechange41394@gmail.com) or GoFundMe (Freezin For A Reason).

All of the money raised will go directly to the Gunnar Anderson Memorial Fund and back into the youth of our community.

The following amounts will cover registration for the 5K and/or an event T-shirt. If you would like the shirt shipped to you, please consider adding shipping costs. $25 (adult size S-XL), $30 (2X-3X), $15 (youth size S, M, L).

If you are unable to join us for the event, the family asks that you find a way to bless someone that day through acts of kindness, caring, and compassion. Make a positive difference (big or small) in someone’s world, and if possible – please share with us through pictures, emails or social media.

If you have any questions or need more information, contact Jes Rodne at 218-370-9813.
