Filling empty bowls with soup











Part of the fun of Empty Bowls, besides knowing that donations are benefiting the Cook County Food Shelf, is picking out a beautiful bowl in which to enjoy your soup and then taking it home.

With 510 attendees, there was some waiting in line at the 2012 Empty Bowls event at First Congregational Church in Grand Marais on Thursday, November 8, but no one minded. The soup, provided by 21 different businesses, was worth waiting for.

There was great soup to savor, as well as lots of socializing— and giggling.

As people made their donations and picked out their special bowls, they were treated to lovely music by Yvonne Mills and Barb LaVigne (not pictured).
