Dan Olsen, director of operations for Windomnet in Windom, will be in Cook County Feb. 10 to talk with county business owners and managers about the opportunities that will come with Arrowhead Electric’s fiber optic broadband network and how businesses might best make use of them.
Olsen will speak to businesses at 11 a.m. in the Arrowhead Electric conference room in Lutsen and at 2 p.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room at the Cook County courthouse.
All those involved in any way with any kind of business in Cook County are invited to attend and hear Olsen. County, city and township officials also are invited and encouraged to attend.
By June, Arrowhead Electric will begin stringing fiber optic cable that eventually will connect every home and business in Cook County to a high speed, high capacity Internet network. As director of one of the nation’s first fiber-to-the-home networks, Olsen knows well the issues and opportunities that soon will confront Cook County businesses as they consider how best to take advantage of the opportunities the Arrowhead network will make available.
Olsen’s visit to Cook County is sponsored by Cook County Higher Education and the University of Minnesota Extension’s Center for Community Vitality.
