Fatal accident at County Road 14 and East Hwy 61 under investigation

On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at approximately 4:15 p.m., a single vehicle accident involving a red Jeep was reported crashed at County Rd 14 and East Highway 61. The local 79-year-old female driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and sadly was reported deceased on arrival of emergency crews.

The deceased was transported to the North Shore Health Hospital and next of kin was notified.

Responding to the scene were Cook County Sheriff ’s Deputies, MN State Patrol, Cook County Ambulance, Colvill Fire Rescue and Hovland Fire Rescue.

The cause of the accident and cause of death is under investigation and will be confirmed. No further information was available before the paper was sent to the press.
