Fast Friends coming back to the library

Back by popular demand, Library Friends of Cook County and Grand Marais Public Library are offering another round of Fast Friends at Grand Marais Public Library on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Fast Friends is a casual and upbeat social gathering for adults in a welcoming environment—your library.

“Imagine a speed-dating set up without the pressure of dating,” explained assistant library director Amanda St. John. “We give participants fun conversation prompts and seven minutes to chat with one other person at a time. The first group was ecstatic for the introvert-friendly format. It’s a great way for people to meet and get to know one another!”

In today’s world, one of the most powerful things we can do is connect with each other face-to-face, especially with our neighbors and community. Please join us. We’d like to meet you!

Tea and cookies will be provided by the Library Friends of Cook County.
