A little over a year ago, the “Local Food Market” began offering fresh from the garden goods for sale at the Cook County Community Center on Thursdays from 4 – 6 p.m.

Community members are invited to participate in a short survey about the local farmers markets. All who complete the survey will be added to a drawing for a chance to win a certificate for $100 worth of local groceries.

The farmers market survey is being conducted by the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic and Northwoods Food Project to help determine whether there is an interest in customers using debit, credit or food program cards to purchase at the markets. Access to fresh, healthy and local foods is an important way to increase health. Purchasing local also keeps food dollars in our community and supports local food businesses.

Everyone is encouraged to complete the short survey. Find the survey on the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic Facebook page or after August 29 at www.sawtoothmountainclinic.org.

Thanks to funding from Empty Bowls, anyone who receives EBT, SNAP, or MFIP and completes the short survey will be added to the drawing, and will have the additional perk of receiving a $10 voucher to use at the Thursday local food market this summer.

Thanks to Empty Bowls for providing funds towards the vouchers for the local food market and the $100 drawing for local groceries. The $10 vouchers will be mailed out upon completion of the survey. The drawing will take place in mid-September.
