To the Cook County sheriff ’s department, the Search and Rescue team, and to the friends and complete strangers that helped in the search for our son-in-law from May 11 through May 12: Words of thanks seem unbelievably insufficient and will never be enough to truly express the feeling of gratitude we have for your help and support.
To the entire sheriff ’s department, your empathy and your calm, professional approach with us, and especially with our daughter, will never be forgotten.
To the Search and Rescue personnel, whatever wizardry you worked inside that new command center trailer of yours was obviously skillfully and competently developed and efficiently executed.
To the friends and strangers who volunteered to walk the woods with us, your selfless, benevolent action was such a shining example of the GOOD in people, that it offset some of the darkness of the moment and gave us hope.
To our family and friends who were driving from all directions to help us on the morning of that second day, we felt your energy and heard your love through the phone calls and text messages.
And finally to our friends Dave and Mona Hanson, who live up on Leo Lake, and were on their way to a weekend in the Cities when they heard our news and turned around to help us in the search, you define the term “friends,” and you are the quintessential representation of this wonderful, caring, loving, gracious community called Cook County.
In awe, with endless
thanks and love,
Mike and Denise Joswiak
