F. Keith Hunt,
91, of Grand Marais, passed away on Friday, October 12, 2012.
Keith was born in Big Lake, MN on November 22, 1920 to Freed and Adeline (Kiebel) Hunt. He spent his youth in Big Lake before attending Macalester College.
Keith served his country honorably in the Pacific theatre during World War II and later married Sylvia Laverne Ness on April 13, 1947. The couple had two sons, Tim and Tom.
The family resided in St. Paul and later Burnsville, and Keith worked in the publishing and advertising businesses. Soon after retiring in 1983 the couple moved to Grand Marais.
Keith was involved in several projects as a member of the board for the North Shore Hospital.
With the help of his brother Rodney, he wrote and published two books on North Shore fishermen and life: Tough Men Tough Boats and Look Over Your Shoulder. Keith always enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his wife Sylvia, brother Carroll, and sister Lorraine.
Keith is survived by his sons Tim Hunt of Bayport, MN and Tom (Connie) Hunt of Buffalo, MN; grandchildren Nathaniel, Andrew, Amanda, Lauren, Quinn and Kyle; great-grandchildren Regan, Garrett, Leland and Isabella; brother Rodney Hunt of Osage, MN as well as many other extended family members and friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, October 25 at 2:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grand Marais.
