Ahhh, January in Minnesota! It can be lots of things… probably cold, probably snowy, but definitely beautiful. Join us at Sugarloaf Cove on Saturday, January 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. for a winter exploration under the light of the moon.
We will have a campfire, toast some marshmallows, enjoy hot beverages and see what’s happening first hand. A torchlight hike to the shore will be part of the event, so come prepared for a short expedition.
A clear night might provide great views of the moon and winter stars, but clear or otherwise there is definitely a lot happening even when the living world seems to be slumbering under the ice and snow.
Dress for being outside with winter boots, and winter layers, but know there is also an indoor Nature Center to retreat to if weather is overly challenging outside. Cost is $5 per person; $15 per family; members free.
Sugar Loaf Cove Nature Center is located lakeside off Hwy. 61 at mile 73.3. For more information call 218-525-0001 or visit www.sugarloafnorthshore.org.
