On July 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. you will have a chance to explore Butterwort Cliffs.
Every expedition is different at Butterwort Cliffs—there are no trails on this steep shoreline of Lake Superior. With no set pathway, discovery is the name of the game.
Step out of the structured world and into the world where every step is by necessity very deliberate. Imagine first hand, what it might have been like in the very early days of Lake Superior with little human contact.
Meet in the picnic area parking lot at Cascade River State Park. You do not need a park sticker, as we will not leave our cars there. The Minnesota Environment provides funding for this program and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR).
