Turtles, Moose and Blue Jays. With three teams, one team plays two games each week. On Monday it was the Blue Jays. In T-ball we don’t keep score, we just have fun and try to teach baseball skills. The kids spent most of their time working on those skills and some time playing in the sand. Fun was had by all.

Parent Pitch started their second week of games on Tuesday, June 14. The Lumberjacks took on the Thunderbirds. The Lumberjacks won a very close game 19 – 17. The Lumberjacks are now 2-0, while the Thunderbirds have lost two very close games.

In the other game this week, the Lions played the Yankees. The Yankees brought their bats to this game and handed the Lions a lopsided loss 23 -13. Both the Lions and the Thunderbirds were ready on Sunday to get their first win, but games were canceled due to rain.

The first Little League game of the week was Sunday. That game pitted the Cubs vs. Dodgers. It was a close game, but the Dodgers came out on top in the end, winning by two runs.

On Tuesday, the Dodgers faced the Twins. The Twins got back to their winning ways with a 16 – 8 victory.

Thursday was an exciting day as the Cubs hit the road and traveled to Silver Bay for a double header. We have only three teams and Silver Bay has two. So playing some games against each other gives both communities the chance for some different competition. Our Cubs played the Silver Bay Twins with the Cubs losing 6 – 0. The Cubs put themselves in the hole in the first inning giving up 4 runs. They settled down after that and played well. Andrew Miller pitched a great game against a good Silver Bay team.

In the second game, Brent Sorensen was on the hill as the Cubs played the Silver Bay Brewers. This was a back and forth game from the beginning. The Cubs held a narrow lead most of the game, but a game-winning double in their last at-bats won the game for the Brewers 7 – 6. It was a great experience for the kids.

Games on Sunday were rained out. Look for more games in the coming week, as the Twins will travel to Silver Bay on Thursday.
