Of all the tons of money dumped into bottomless holes, there seems to be no changing of thought by the liberals in power. Only one voted no because he thought correctly. The other one voted no because she wants it all. She wants you to have nosebleed level taxes. She’s OK with it.
She needs to be the first one voted out followed by three more.
With over $11 million sunk into the Lutsen golf course, as reported $3.5 million sunk into the EDA which is a highly questionable organization, with highly questionable motives, and a never-ending supply of taxpayer funds to other Non Essential programs it is no wonder that it takes a $9 million tax levy to run a county with less than 5,200 people. Then commissioners have the audacity to comment on how hard they worked to fix it. They want “status quo” and continue to have you pay for it.
How about if they fix the county employee health care system, so it doesn’t continue to cost taxpayers endless amounts? Who okayed double time pay for county highway workers to go out on Sunday? This is causing blowback from neighboring counties because their workers now want the same. Do you get double time to work on Sunday? Neither do I.
Sooner or later sanity has to be restored in Cook County government. Four commissioners need to be recalled or ousted at their next election.
The current county administrator needs to go. Practical thought needs to come back to “funding and spending.” The “special interest people” need to be sidelined with no more influence to the county board ever again. Their time needs to be over.
They’ve tried to mold this county into their image and likeness with your money, and they have gotten away with it for a long time. Maybe it’s time to stop them.
For too long your money has been up for grabs by greedy and arrogant people filling you with lies and stories. All of you need to start looking for candidates who can be elected to serve the people of this county on the board with sane spending habits.
The liberals in power need to be kept away from the people’s checkbook, or next year it will be $10 million. Just wait and listen to their next excuse that pops up.
If they can do it once, they’ll do it again. Two years in a row with the highest levy in the state. Will it be three straight? Any bets?
