Empty Bowls now accepting grant applications

Non-Profits in Cook County struggling to feed their clients can depend once again Empty Bowls Cook County for financial help. Local businesses, individual donors and a family foundation graciously turned out enabling this virtual Empty Bowls to meet its fundraising goal of $50,000.

Empty Bowls Cook County is a non-profit 501 c (3) business working to fight food insecurity. This is a volunteer organization with all proceeds, after some minimal costs, going back into the community.

Applications are now being accepted from notfor profit organizations serving Cook County’s hunger needs. Not for profit organizations that provide food within their programs are urged to apply. Examples of grants in the past include providing grocery store gift cards, gas station gift cards, food vouchers, vegetable or fruit seed packets, to purchase food to distribute or to promote healthy eating in Cook County.

Applications are being accepted until January 15, 2022.
