Elvy “Bunny” Proper, 90, of Fairborn, Ohio and a 50-plus-year summer resident at Poplar Lake on the Gunflint Trail, passed away May 1, 2014.
She was born April 9, 1924 in Nassja, Sweden, the daughter of the late Elving and Alice (Karlsson) Anderson.
Bunny was employed as a real estate agent with Roth Realty, followed by Big Hill Realty; and was a longtime member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Fairborn. She was an avid golfer, snow skier, and gardener.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Col. Louis W. Proper Sr.; a daughter Susan Jean Proper; and a brother.
She is survived by four children Marcella (Keith) Hamel of California, Louis W. Proper Jr. of Virginia, David E. Proper of Arizona, and Cheryl L. (Mike) Casterline of Beavercreek; nine grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held June 14 at 11 a.m. in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 100 E. Main St., Fairborn with Pastor John Place officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A private family only burial will be in Byron Cemetery.
