Ellie Krug to speak at the Grand Marais Library

Nationally recognized trans activist Ellie Krug is scheduled to speak at the Grand Marais Public Library at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 23. Ms. Krug’s topic will be “Living as Other in America: How to Bridge our Divides.”

Krug speaks to large groups around the nation, and conducts inclusivity training workshops for large corporations where she works with thousands of employees. She addresses topics of diversity and inclusion, and speaks about transgender issues, matters of inclusivity, and strategies organizations and individuals may use to create alliances and tools that foster inclusion.

Krug’s website, www.elliekrug.com, and her blog are available for those who would like to know more about Krug. The library owns her memoir “Getting to Ellen.”

This activity is one of several events scheduled to take place in the second annual Grand Marais Gay Pride celebration, for which a march is planned at 11 a.m. to begin at the Congregational Church, with a picnic in the church parking lot to follow. Posters with more information about these activities may be found around the community.
