Eleven years and counting on snowmobile trail

It was frustrating reading the January 25 article South Fowl snowmobile trail litigation will be lengthy.

After 11 years of trying to get a replacement for the Tilbury Trail between McFarland and South Fowl lakes, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at the lengths the groups Izaak Walton League of America, Inc., Wilderness Watch of Missoula, Montana, Sierra Club Northstar Chapter and Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness will go to control land outside the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW). They are now using the legal system as their tool.

I applaud groups like Martin Kubik’s Boundary Waters Advisory Committee who actually “walk the talk” and work to restore what trails were damaged and keep the BWCAW a cherished place for all to visit and enjoy.
