Electric Vehicles Have A Lot Going For Them

Arvis, thanks for bringing this issue forward, they are legitimate concerns, unfortunately based on myths and misinformation. I have been researching EVs for almost a year and by last fall was drawn towards hybrid electrics. Since then, events and new developments have driven me to consider full electric, and here is why. Let me address your concerns one by one. 1) The drawbacks of EVs: short answer, I am hard pressed to find any in reality. They are reliable, efficient, cheaper, faster and more powerful than their ICE counterparts. 2) Watching videos from those opposed in principle will not lead to the truth. To continue you ask what to do in in an accident? Quick answer: the same thing you would do if your ICE was in an accident, exactly the same thing. Passengers can be removed in the same way; it is still a car. If the vehicle catches fire the only thing fire rescue need to know, is it a car fire or a battery fire? If a car fire the reaction should be the same as any car fire, conventional response. If it is a battery fire the response is simpler, let the battery burn out, do not pour any water on it. The batteries are designed to burn internally and are best left to that fate, let it cool down naturally. 3) The towing companies might have opinions on EVs, but they tow like any other vehicle. Working on them is not a lot different, their mechanicals are not very different though the operating system is: considering the reliance on electronics by most modern ICEs, most trained mechanics are well prepared to work on EVs. 4) Spontaneous combustion? More likely to occur in a pile of old rags, no greater likelihood than any other vehicle. 6) Cold days do not drain down the battery: Cold temperatures impact the battery life of an electric vehicle, but not in the way you may think. According to Consumer Reports, cold temps can reduce an unplugged EV’s range by about 20 percent, and recharging in the cold takes longer than in warm weather. Other than that, they will run every time you start. like flipping a light switch. 7) Finally, preprogrammed to run in the cold? not sure what that even means, but if it refers to the EV working at any temp, it sounds like a good thing.

The time is now to switch to EVs, the reliability is superior, the maintenance costs less, the fuel costs are a fraction, and they are quiet. There are many more myths to dispel, contact me by PM and I will be happy to address any others. At this time, I am ready to order and as soon as my choice is available, I will put the order in.
