Eleanor Leone (Danielson) Mathisen, 93, of Roseville, Minn. passed away peacefully on February 2, 2019.
Preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Benjamin Arthur Mathisen. Survived by children Linda Vloedmans, Ann Mathisen, and Benjamin Mathisen Jr.; grandchildren Matt Heurung, Josie Barton, Elizabeth Crawley, Andrew Heurung, and Josef Vloedmans; and four great-grandchildren.
Eleanor was born on December 22, 1925, in Minneapolis to Andrew and Ellen Danielson. She graduated in 1945 from South High in Minneapolis. She married Benjamin Arthur Mathisen on April 13, 1946, and became a much beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Eleanor worked for Honeywell, was a cook at the Lutsen School, and was a supervisor in the credit department at Sears Lake Street.
Eleanor and Ben owned and operated Hammond Transfer Company and Benco Trailers in Minneapolis for 25 years. They were members of the Sons of Norway and the Nidoros Dance Group. They wintered in Arizona for many years and volunteered at Valley Lutheran Hospital.
Gathering of family and friends on Feb. 11, 2019, from 10 a.m. to noon at Roseville Memorial Chapel (2245 N. Hamline Ave., Roseville). Interment in Lutsen, Minn.
