The Grand Portage Elders will be operating three fundraising events during Rendezvous Days, August 12, 13 and 14.

They will be running bingo in the Grand Portage Fire Hall Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Times will be 4 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. There are great prizes to be won such as gift certificates, casino packages and jackets, just to name a few.

Elders will also be selling their delicious fresh herring fish nuggets and strawberry shortcake out of the newly expanded Fish Shack.

Once again Elders will be selling 50/50 raffle tickets and this year they have a colorful queen size, handmade quilt, a beautiful framed contemporary drawing by Steven Standing Cloud and a $50 Holiday gas card. All prize drawings are a $1 donation. Drawings will be Sunday, Aug. 14 around 4 p.m.

Elder Nutrition Program Director Patty Winchell Dahl said, “A Chi Miigwech to all the local businesses who so generously donated prizes and support us throughout the year. We are grateful.”
