Edward Anthony Czaplicki, 75, of Schroeder Minnesota, died July 2, 2020, in the Minnesota Veterans home of Silver Bay, Minnesota. He graduated from Cathedral High School in Duluth, Minnesota and attended UMD before going into the Navy. He was a Vietnam Veteran that served our country from 1968 to 1975.
He worked for Moffatt Products in Lutsen, the DNR, and Lutsen Resort briefly before becoming a letter carrier in Silver Bay. He was a Steward for the Letter carriers Union for many years. He was an avid photographer, loved classical music and racing around in his WRX. He was a beloved father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Adelpha, his father, Anthony, mother, Ann and sister, Margaret.
Ed is survived by his wife Lavona, son Ted and daughter Mary (Jeff Eliason), granddaughters Alana (Mike Soumela), Sarena (Sam Crawley) Gina (Dustin Nelson), Christina, great grandchildren Alec, Payton, Cullen and Finley.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks for the wonderful help and care given by the Minnesota Veterans Home and to the Hospice Care team from Duluth. If desired, friends may make a memorial and contributions to the Veterans Home in Silver Bay. Interment will be at the Crystal Bay Cemetery in Finland, Minnesota. An outdoor graveside service will be held August 15 for both his sister Margaret and Edward. Due to the CDC regulations, the service will only include immediate family members.
