Education Association does not make educational decisions

I am a member of the Cook County School District 166 Education Foundation (many of you know us through the annual EATS program in the spring) writing unofficially to clarify a few things from a recent letter to the editor about the Education Foundation.

One: The writer, Ms. Strayer, is not a member of our board, has attended no meetings, and has not asked us for information on our mission or activities. Her comments, therefore, are personal opinion based on hearsay.

Two: The Cook County School District 166 Education Foundation (our legal name as a charitable organization) has not and does not make educational decisions for ISD 166. Our role is to supplement and enrich academic programs as possible and as requested. Instructors bring assistance requests to us. We do not initiate them.
