Our elected officials should watch the Donut Shop and Angry Trout, they might really learn about economic development.
They’ve hired local
contractors, operators, carpenters, plumbers, and electricians and bought local
materials. Wages to locals get spent in local businesses that employ locals. That’s how this community was built and that’s the politics we need to get back to, investing in our community first and always!
We voted in over $20 million in spending last fall and we need to ensure those tax dollars go to local trades people first. If we hire a large contractor firm from elsewhere, then we need stipulations in the contract to hire local subcontractors first.
Economic development shouldn’t just be about paying the bill. We have an opportunity to make these tax dollars make a major impact on our local economy, but it’s a one-time shot.
Call the courthouse and tell them to “keep the money at home.” We had over 3,000 votes last November, how about 3,000 calls to 387-3602.
It’s your tax dollars; would you like a slice of over $20 million?
