Tom Hedstrom of Grand Marais recently presented a check from Emera Chapter 160, Order of the Eastern Star, to Gwen Lenz of the Cook County Food Shelf.
Again, the Minnesota State Grand Family of the Order of the Eastern Star will match the dollars, two to one. Emera was also pleased to present donations to the Lake County Food Shelf, serving Silver Bay and Two Harbors, and also matched by the Grand Family.
This holiday season, the local Eastern Star chapter has been very active, making donations to area care centers and the Salvation Army. Recently, Don Ingram, a member of Emera Chapter 160 in Two Harbors and also a resident of the Cook County North Shore Care Center, delivered a check from the chapter to North Shore Care Center Activities Director Kay Rosenthal. That money will be used by the care center for beauty shop supplies and for raised garden beds next spring.
Emera Chapter was also pleased to present checks to the Cook and Lake County Salvation Army.
