Easter egg hunt is on April 15

Good news for local children, the Easter Bunny will once again be able to make a guest appearance at the Cook County Community Center in Grand Marais on April 15 from 9 a.m. till noon. Last year the Easter Bunny (seen here) took time to mingle and pose for pictures with kids. This year the Easter Bunny promises more of the same.

The Easter Bunny, all floppy ears, wiggly whiskers and cute little tail, will hop, hop, hop, to the Cook County Community Center and be on hand — or bunny paw – from 9 a.m. until noon on April 15.

At 10:30 a.m. the Easter egg hunt will begin. Younger kids get to go first so they can get a “leg up” on finding some eggs. Bring your camera so you can take a rare picture of your child or children with the Easter Bunny.

Brunch and activities cost $15 for the whole family. Food includes egg bake and egg strata, fruit, veggies, coffee, and juice.

Activities include a duck scoop, ring toss, egg and spoon race, balloon and butterfly game, and bunny hopscotch. There will also be a bunny craft project and an Easter cake silent auction.

A raffle will be held, $3 per ticket or two tickets for $5, and prizes include a $100 gift certificate to Johnson’s Grocery, $100 gift certificate to Cook County Whole Foods Co-op and a $100 gift certificate to Grand Marais Holiday Station Store.

This fantastic family event is sponsored by Johnson’s Grocery Store, Cook County Whole Foods Co-op, Holiday Station Store, Nordic Electric, Grand Marais State Bank, Java Moose, North Shore Health Care Center, Joynes Department Store, Cook County Extension Director Diane Booth, Birchbark Books and Gifts, Beth’s Fudge and Gifts, Picnic and Pine, and Trail Center, with special thanks to the Easter Bunny.
