Frank Moe and Kristin DeArruda Wharton survived a tough primary and will now square off in the general election to see who will be the elected District 1 Cook County commissioner.
Three of the candidates they defeated, Harry Drabik, Steve Fleace and John Bockovich are joining to sponsor a Saturday, September 20 forum at the Hovland Town Hall to see whom they will throw their support to.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
“We are going to ask them some tough questions and record their answers. We want them to be accountable for what they say and not waffle on their answers later on if they are elected,” said Steve Fleace.
DeArruda Wharton won the primary with 127 votes, Moe was second with 86 votes, Drabik tallied 73 votes, Fleace received 40 votes and Bockovich got 20 votes.
After the meeting the three former candidates will sit down and decide whom they will support. Moe and DeArruda Wharton are vying for the seat currently held by Commissioner Jan Hall.
