Saturday is Earth Day and the celebration in Grand Marais kicks off with a 9:30 a.m. walk hosted by March for Science—Arrowhead. The walk will begin at the Cook County Community Center and end at Harbor Park.
At 10 a.m. there will be a March for Science Rally – Arrowhead. Included in the rally will be three local scientists and Michaela Clingaman from Cook County Soil and Water Conservation speaking on Shoreline Erosion. After the rally, Joe Paulik will provide live music in Harbor Park.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Beach Clean Up table is open to the community, located in Harbor Park. Prizes will be awarded for the most cigarettes collected, heaviest collection of trash and most peculiar trash collected.
At 1:30 p.m. Andy DeLisi, project manager from Prairie Restoration Inc. will speak about the East Bay Suites’ “Restore the Shore” effort commencing Spring 2017. Andy will speak at the East Bay Suites Stones Throw Gathering Room.
