Earlene A. Meier, 85, born December 17, 1931, to Albert and Amy (Peterson) Roth, passed away April 22, 2017.
Preceded in death by husband, Rev. Alvin C. Meier; brothers John Roth, Albert Roth; sister-in-law Joan Roth; brother-in-law Ray Youngblood.
Survived by five children, Jacalyn (Steve) Meier-Ratte, Duluth, Heidi (Dennis) Thompson, Mitchell, S.D., E. Amy (Ron) Jacobson, Jupiter, Florida, Rev. William (Linda) Meier, St. Cloud, Stephen (Annette) Meier, Minneapolis; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Alberta (Glen) Samuelson, Rozella (Willis) Ward; sisters-in-law Eleanor Roth, Sharon Youngblood; extended family, and many friends.
Earlene was a graduate of St. Lucas Nursing School and enjoyed her career for over 40 years. She loved to camp, ski and garden, and her delight in games and jigsaw puzzles made family visits much fun for all ages.
Her retirement with Al in Lutsen gave them a special place to share their love of the outdoors together.
Memorial service is Saturday, April 29, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior at First United Methodist Church of the St. Cloud Region (1107 Pine Cone Road S., Sartell).
Memorials preferred to Minnehaha United Methodist, First United Methodist Church of the St. Cloud Region, Lutsen Lutheran Church or to donor’s choice.
