Dust off that gloom with some glee and some glitter!

Well, we made it through a diminished Halloween and are entering a subdued holiday season. Opportunities to gather with family, friends, and co-workers are limited. Concerts, programs, and events that we look forward to every year have been cancelled altogether. Many of us are bracing for what could be a long, gloomy, and isolating winter.

To counter the loss of what we usually do to celebrate indoors, I do have a suggestion regarding what we can do to at least make things a bit brighter outdoors. Hang a wreath! Decorate a mailbox, string some lights, put out luminaries, make snow sculptures and ice candles.

I personally appreciate those people who regularly decorate their houses and yards each winter for their neighbors to enjoy. Maybe this is the year that we can all join in to make our community an even cheerier place. I’m issuing the challenge!
