Duclos performs well at the Lumberjack World Championships

In her first year as a professional, Allie Duclos, Lutsen, placed sixth in the Women’s Boom Run and ninth in the Women’s Elite Log rolling competition at the Lumberjack World Championships held in Hayward, Wisconsin from July 20-22.

Allie qualified for the boom run championship round on Saturday and had a clean, fast first run. However, she fell on the second run and had to scramble to get back on the log and finish the run, costing her precious time and places. Lily Duffy won the boom run with a time of 15.1 seconds, beating Meredith Ingbretson who finished in 15.36 seconds.

In the log rolling event Allie took one fall off of Meredith Ingbretson, losing 3-1 and then was knocked out of the competition 3-0 by Ella Wedul. Allie won two matches in the consolation round. She beat Kestra Peterson 3-0 and Maddy Lyons 3-0.

Once again Livi Pappadopulous proved unbeatable winning 3-0 over Ellie Davenport. Livi never lost a fall in the contest.
