Driver suffers broken leg in snowmobile accident




Cook County Law Enforcement received a call of a snowmobile accident with injuries at 7:44 p.m. on Saturday, February 21. The caller reported the accident on the snowmobile trail about three miles from Grand Marais, heading toward town from Devil Track Lake.

Grand Marais First Responders, Search and Rescue and Cook County Ambulance responded and were on scene to rescue Jacqueline Marie Hoffman, 26, of St. Cloud at 8:10 p.m. She was transported to North Shore Hospital by Cook County Ambulance. She suffered a broken leg.

Hoffman, driving a 2003 Skidoo MXZ, stated that she hit a bump and went off into the trees on the way back to Grand Marais after a day of riding.

No alcohol was involved. No citation was issued.
