Driver Safety classes Jan. 28

Driver Safety classes will once again be held in Cook County.

Minnesota state statute states drivers aged 55+ receive a 10 percent auto insurance discount by taking an approved eight-hour driver safety class. Drivers maintain the discount by taking a four-hour refresher class every three years.

Classes will be offered Jan. 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cook County Community Center (Beginning Driver Safety). The next eight-hour class will be held in April at Birch Grove in Tofte.

Unable to fit a driver safety class into your schedule? You may take AARP’s on-line driver safety course.

Check with your insurance agent to find out if your auto insurance company will give you a discount on your rates when you complete the online course Minnesota state statute does not mandate a rate discount when you take the online course.
