No doubt about it. Troubling times prompt people to draw close to God for needed strength and comfort and hope. If trust in Jesus, Jehovah, Allah, or any of the hundreds of other gods worshiped worldwide gives one an added boost of endurance and a means of coping during our lengthy, frightening, and frankly mind-blowing COVID19 pandemic, wonderful! Who can argue against success?
For advice in surviving this pandemic, however, turn to science and those who have invested their lives to the study of virology and epidemics, not to religious leaders or politicians who claim a superior source of knowledge and whose messages are likely biased toward a particular faith or political party. Unbiased study is the path to knowledge and truth, and leads to wise solutions. Faith is not.
In troubling times, draw close to God for inner strength, but look to science for knowledge and solutions.
I think it’s most important to keep these two things separate, and especially in the time of COVID19, dangerous not to.
