Themen were each sentenced to one year in jail and fined $3,000. Thepair were among a party of 10 men who were camped on Phoebe Lake and shot off hundreds of rounds of ammunition and created a disturbance. When other campers yelled over to them to “knock it off,” they responded with obscenities.

About 3 a.m. the next day, the men were heard to say, “Let’s go get them guys.” The campers said they felt threatened because they knew the group had guns, and one of the men allegedly threatened to shoot the head off one of the men in the other party.

• Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Moon of Taconite Harbor ran a hectic and futile race with the stork to the local hospital last Thursday morning.

Ralph was driving 90 mph when it became apparent that even though he was flying fast the stork was flying faster and a top speed of 105 mph was reached in some stretches of the 33-mile trip.

When they reached Grand Marais and were turning off the highway and up the hill with only five blocks left to the hospital, the car stalled because of the overheated condition of the engine. Ralph then flagged a passing motorist who rushed Mrs. Moon to the hospital.

A 9-pound, 4-ounce girl was delivered.
