The Cook County-Grand Marais Economic Development Authority held a special meeting Sept. 17 to discuss the Superior National Golf Course “flow of funds” issue. “Does the EDA have a legal obligation to dedicate excess golf course revenues to development of recreation facilities in the West End?” was the main question before the board. County Attorney Bill Hennessy said, “I did look into the legalities as much as I could. The EDA owns the golf course, and the EDA owns and controls the revenues from it.” He added, “The EDA has the decision on what’s to be done with the money, and cannot delegate that decision-making authority. The EDA’s use of those funds is restricted to economic development projects, not just any recreational thing.”

If we have snow, and was there ever a winter when we didn’t, what will the rivers be like in the spring?
