At their meeting on Oct. 25, the Cook County commissioners moved to support county participation, along with the townships of Lutsen, Tofte and Schroeder, in the ongoing maintenance of the proposed airport in Tofte. Election printing has delayed us in news gathering this week, but we must mention the beautiful new brick front being built by the Motor Inn; the enlargement of the Midway Garage into a structure twice its present size, to be of brick; and the new building of the Grand Marais Bakery which Mr. Cherry informs us will be ready for occupancy on the first. With the Joynes building recently completed and the new schoolhouse under construction and about ready for occupancy, it is plainly to be seen that the village is growing.
