Hamilton won out over 12 other business owners in northern Minnesota. “Sarah worked alongside her sister as a waitress in the restaurant and both were unable to make a living. The Gazelle Enterprise Award is presented annually to a business owner who has a “principal responsibility for the creation and operation of a business which has demonstrated high growth in revenues and number of employees, profitability and impact on a community or region.”

Duluth air base officials have been investigating the mysterious firing of a shell that penetrated Mrs. Florence Woutila’s house at Hovland Monday afternoon. So far there has been no explanation who fired the projectile. Mrs. Woutila found a 3-inch-long shell, ¾ inches in diameter lying on the floor beside the chair which sustained a shattered upholstery. She called Sheriff Emerson Morris who found that the bullet had entered the house about ceiling high. It had made a very small hole where it entered and was hard to find. Mrs. Woutila realized that a thing of this sort had to be investigated, but she added that she didn’t wish to get anyone into trouble as a result.
