The citation reads: “Specifically, the upper floor of the courthouse was not equipped with two or more means of egress.” Jerry Loh, director of maintenance, had warned the commissioners that the citation would be written and is requesting a two-year extension of the 30-day deadline for a progress report on correction of violations. If granted as expected, the extension will allow the county time to develop plans for design and installation of permanent fire escapes, a long-range solution to the problem.
