Dorothy A. (Drouillard) Evans Johansen





 

 

Dorothy A. (Drouillard) Evans Johansen of Robbinsdale, formerly Duluth passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the age of 84. She was surrounded by family and the beautiful hymns she loved.

Dorothy retired from the Duluth School District where she was employed as a teaching assistant.

She was a member of the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

Through the years she was active in her church, Bethany Baptist. She served as a deaconess and member of Deborah Circle. As a volunteer, she participated in activities of the Duluth Senior Coalition, Salvation Army, Duluth Summer Tutoring Program, Greysolon Community Club, Forever Fifty, Grand Portage Greater Duluth Enrollees Housing Committee, Grand Portage Constitution Committee, Wisdom Steps and numerous other community programs.

Dorothy was preceded in death by parents, William Drouillard, Margaret Morrison Drouillard; 11 brothers and sisters; husband George Evans.

She is survived by sons, Rickey Evans, Gerald Evans, Charles (Jana) Evans, Terrance Evans; daughters. Gloria (Patrick) Dunleavy, Brenda (Bruce) Glader, 14 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren.

The family would like to express heartfelt love and appreciation to our brother Rickey Evans, of Robbinsdale, for his years of devotion and care of our mother.

Memorials to the family care of Cremation Society of Minnesota 7110 France Ave. S. Edina, MN 55435. A memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at Bethany Baptist Church, 6700 Grand Avenue in Duluth. Visitation at the church one hour prior to service.
