Don’t let senior lunches end at Birch Grove

Dear Cook County commissioners:

I was informed this morning that it was announced yesterday at senior lunch in Tofte at Birch Grove Community School building that as of August 1st there will be no more senior lunches.

This is outrage and shame!

The current “coup” going on in Tofte and the West End concerning Birch Grove Community School and its antics are now going to hurt our seniors. That is wrong on so many levels I can’t count them. WE Connect is being kicked out and sidelined.

This “coup” (which hasn’t even been determined to be legal yet) is now going to cause this? Nuts! Our seniors in Cook County don’t ask for much.

They certainly do not deserve this…

I urge all of you to look at whatever funding you have given out and/or about to give Tofte to Birch Grove whatever it is now and stop. Because as of August 1, 2017 whatever part of that money won’t be going to these seniors and their food.
