The Frank DiMaio Fund for Creativity and Experimentation is an effort to raise funds every year to give out grants to pre-K – 6th grade teachers throughout Cook County in order for them to try new ideas in the classroom.
Lyle Gerard and Joan Drury have been consistent donors to this effort over the years.
The program started in 2010 and has supported teachers at Birch Grove, Oshki-Ogimaag, Cooperation Station, Cook County ISD 166 and Great Expectations School.
“We always have more requests than funding,” said Diane Booth, adding, “and this year is no different.”
