Donations appreciated, volunteers also needed

On March 29, 2016, I was grateful to hand carry a $5,000 check to our Cook County Area Food Shelf, as our local share of Hunger Heroes first program (See the Cook County News- Herald article on April 9 – page A3.) We are very thankful for every donor and each person who has supported this effort.

Food Shelf doors at the First Congregational Church in Grand Marais have been open since 2004—every Monday from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. and the first Wednesday of the month from 5:00 -7:00 p.m.

As we sincerely celebrate the generosity of our community and the leadership of North Shore Federal Credit Union, we want you to know that we currently very much need volunteers.

If you are available for two hours per month at the above times, we would love to meet you, provide training and match you with an experienced volunteer.

We need both volunteer workers as well as supplies to help ease hunger in our region.

Co-Volunteer Coordinator
