Donald Eugene “Sluggo” Sprywolf





 

 

Donald Eugene “Sluggo” Sprywolf passed unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2015 at his home.

Don was born January 14, 1950 in Duluth, to Mitchel Wilfred and Charlotte Theresa (Rousseau) Spry.

Don was a professional painter who not only owned his own business, but also worked as a painter for many years for the City of Duluth. Until his death he was employed by and an enrolled member, of the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

Don loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; two brothers, Mitchel Bruce Spry and John Frank Spry; and a sister, Theresa Spry.

Don is survived by his children, Jesse Spry, River (Yanna) Spry and Lacey Spry. He had two grandsons he adored, Sage Spry and Oliver Spry. Don also has three surviving sisters, Donna Anderson, Betty (Ferd) Martineau, and Bonnie (Rick) Johnson.

A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the community center in Grand Portage.
