Does anyone know the answer to this question?

I read Staci Drouillards book “Walking the Old Road” which was well written. As I was reading it I was thinking about the “Indian Trail” that our gang hiked many times when we were young.

The “Indian Trail” that we had excursions on started behind the high school, went by an old shack we called Nature Boy’s house, and up to Pincushion Mountain. We called it that because our parents called it that. After reading the book, I was wondering what the history is of that trail? I was wondering if the Chippewa people used it.
