DNR announces new skills classes for women and families

Women and families can learn outdoor recreational skills in a wide range of hands-on learning opportunities in the newly released 2018 Becoming an Outdoors Woman and Becoming an Outdoors Family catalog.

For Cook County there will be a course called “Off Grid: Creative Writing and Reflection” that will be held May 17 to May 20.

The weekend takes place at Points Unknown homestead in the remote north woods of Minnesota’s Arrowhead Region and will be led by BOW dog sledding instructor, Linda Newman and Windcradle’s Mary Ellen Ashcroft.

There will be collaborative cooking (potluck) to keep your cost down. Cost: $395.

Register at Linda@ points-unknown.com.
