Winter offers a whole new way to play, and Minnesota State Parks and Trails have adventures to keep you and your family enjoying the season all winter long! Some parks have rental gear available, and there are lots of kid-friendly activities, from sledding to winter geocaching. Hit the trails and try cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling. Wildlife watching is great in the winter, and even a simple hike is a whole different experience on the snow.
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) website has a webpage packed with suggestions on how to enjoy the great outdoors. Visit www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/winter-guide, click and learn about candlelight events, cross country skiing, geocaching, ice fishing, skijoring, sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, winter camping, winter hiking and wildlife watching.
The DNR page also offers a link for snow conditions on skiing and snowmobile trails across the state.
