DFL committee chair violated rules of democracy

When Paul Fish, the DFL District 3A committee chair, made the unilateral decision to cancel the party’s endorsement convention for the seat left vacant by David Dill, he violated the rules of our party and our democracy.

The people of 3A deserve a fair contest, not seated members of the House dictating who will be anointed the nomination. The current political “leaders” of 3A just tipped their hand.

They want to keep clean water advocates muzzled and suppress the people who dare to challenge their archaic ideas about what is good for Northern Minnesota. Times are changing, priorities are shifting and the old ways of extractive industries dictating the direction of our region must be re-evaluated.

We need leaders like Bill Hansen more than ever. Mail in ballots will be in our mailboxes soon. In person voting is scheduled for September 29.

Let’s make sure that Bill is on the ballot on December 8th.
