Folk and Americana singer/songwriter Dennis Warner and his band “the D’s” perform ballads and up-tempo songs, woven in with humorous stories and lively audience participation. Known for their warm stage presence and ability to connect with audiences, this group will lift your spirits and chase away the January chill.

A two-time McKnight Foundation Artist Award winner and three-time finalist for the Kerrville Folk Festival songwriting awards, Dennis Warner has collaborated with many noted musicians, including Bobby Vee, J.D. Steele, Prudence Johnson, and Peter Ostroushko.

In 2020 Dennis was featured on the popular PBS TV show Backroads, performing a sold-out concert that was syndicated throughout the PBS network. He’s performed at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and his touring career to all 50 states and beyond has earned him national and global recognition as a gifted and entertaining singer/songwriter.

In addition to his touring career, Dennis is known for being a favorite guest musician and speaker at schools and community libraries. His Beads on One String elementary school curriculum is used as a meaningful and fun way to teach kids about the negative effects of bullying and the positive effects of recognizing our “connectedness” with each other.

The concert will take place on January 14, 2023. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. at the Arrowhead Center for the Arts (51 W 5th Street, Grand Marais). This is an all-ages event, general seating. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased in advance at northshoremusicassociation.com, or at the door starting at 6:00 pm on January 14. For our community’s health, we encourage folks to wear masks at this event.

This activity is made possible in part by the voters of Minnesota through an Arts Tour MN grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and culture fund.
